CRS Cutoff Trend โ€” 2026

Understanding 2026 Express Entry Draws

In 2026, IRCC moved decisively toward category-based draws over broad general draws. There are now 9 active categories โ€” each with its own lower CRS cutoff, meaning your NOC code matters as much as your score.

How This Data Is Compiled

Draw history is manually compiled from IRCC's published rounds of invitation after each draw occurs. The score comparison tool uses this same data, combined with your entered CRS score, to generate a plain-language summary of your standing โ€” it does not access IRCC systems directly or predict future draws.

Reading the Category-Based Draw Shift

Since 2023, IRCC has run parallel tracks: general draws (open to anyone in the pool, higher cutoffs) and category-based draws (targeting specific NOC codes or attributes, often much lower cutoffs). A candidate with a modest overall CRS score but a qualifying occupation in, say, Healthcare or Trades can receive an ITA at a cutoff 50-100+ points below what a general draw would require โ€” this is why checking your specific eligible categories matters as much as your raw score.

Assumptions

  • Draw data reflects rounds we have manually logged as of the "Rules Updated" date above โ€” always cross-check the latest round on the official IRCC rounds page, especially if viewing this page more than a few weeks after that date.
  • This automated comparison is a starting point for understanding your position, not official guidance or legal advice.

Limitations

  • Past draw cutoffs are historical data, not a prediction or guarantee of future cutoffs.
  • This tracker does not access IRCC systems directly โ€” draw results are logged manually after each round is officially published.
  • Draw frequency and category mix are set by IRCC and can change with little notice โ€” always confirm the latest round via the official source.

โ“ Frequently Asked Questions โ€” Express Entry Draws

How often does IRCC hold Express Entry draws?

IRCC typically holds draws roughly every two weeks, alternating between general draws and category-based draws targeting specific occupations or attributes such as French language ability or healthcare experience.

Can past draw cutoffs predict future cutoffs?

Not reliably. Cutoffs depend on the size and composition of the pool at the time of each draw and IRCC's stated annual targets, both of which can shift. Use historical trends as general context, not a guarantee of where the next cutoff will land.

Should I focus on my overall CRS score or a specific category?

Both, but check category-based cutoffs first if you qualify for one โ€” Healthcare, Trades, and STEM categories have run 50-100+ points below general draw cutoffs in 2026, meaning a lower overall score can still get an ITA if your occupation and language scores match a specific category's requirements.
