All UK immigration tools and guides — from the updated Skilled Worker points calculator (£41,700 standard salary threshold from July 2025) to the latest on the proposed ILR 'Earned Settlement' reform.
What is the UK Skilled Worker salary threshold in 2026?
From 22 July 2025, the standard minimum is £41,700/year or 100% of the going rate for your SOC code, whichever is higher. New entrants and some ISL roles may qualify from £33,400. The skill level requirement also rose to RQF Level 6 (graduate/degree-level) from the same date.
Is the UK ILR qualifying period changing from 5 to 10 years?
This is proposed but not yet law. The Home Office consultation closed February 2026 and the results are under review. The existing 5-year qualifying route remains in force as of July 2026. The one confirmed change is the English requirement rising from B1 to B2 for settlement, taking effect March 26, 2027.
What is the English requirement for a UK Skilled Worker visa in 2026?
New applicants from 8 January 2026 need B2 CEFR English — up from B1. Existing visa holders switching or extending under previous rules may not need to re-prove English if it was demonstrated in a prior successful application.
