The Sperrkonto (blocked account) system is a common target for scams — here's how to keep your visa financial proof legitimate.
🚨 What You Need to Know
Only use blocked account providers regulated by BaFin (Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority). Unofficial or unusually cheap 'blocked account' services are a documented source of visa delays, frozen funds, and outright fraud — your entire visa application depends on this financial proof being genuine and verifiable.
Some third-party services offering blocked accounts outside the BaFin-regulated system have been linked to frozen funds, missing money, or documentation German embassies won't accept — always verify your provider is BaFin-regulated before depositing €11,904.
As with other countries, some agents provide fabricated or altered admission letters to speed up visa applications — a fraudulent admission letter voids your entire visa application and can result in a re-entry ban.
Legitimate blocked accounts can still get frozen due to incomplete or mismatched documentation (missing signatures, ID errors) — this isn't fraud on your part, but it delays your visa, so double-check every document before submission.
No legitimate agent can guarantee a German student visa outcome — this is decided solely by the German embassy/consulate based on your documentation, not by any agent's connections.
